Marine Conservation Resiliency Fellowship

 June 14-17, 2021

The purpose of this retreat is to bring together thought leaders to begin addressing one of the biggest challenges we are all concerned about: conservation grief and conservation fatigue.

Local and global conservation issue areas are becoming more polarized, larger scale and more difficult to address. While all fields of conservation are feeling ecological grief, as you know, marine conservation and marine mammal issue areas have their own set of unique challenges.

The lack of attention to the stress upon you, our marine conservation leaders, is increasingly taking a toll. And now is when we need you more than ever. So, how can we keep you engaged in conservation? Keep you excited about the work ahead? How can we collectively change the system causing the stress, including the lack of “support for the supporters”? These are some of the key issues within the field that must be addressed to minimize burn out.

We will be adhering to special safety protocol for your visit to the farm that respects and follows the best medical advice for how to be in community at that time.  We expect this protocol to evolve with changing information, and we will adjust our practices as needed to assure everyone’s safety and wellbeing.  We take seriously your health, our health, and the health of this land.

Please let us know if you will be attending this Fellowship.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. If you are unsure whether you'd like to attend, we will contact you on May 15 to let you know if there is still space.

By joining our community, you become part of the story of this land.
