Knoll Farm Benefit Concert
Kat Wright
Knoll Farm is thrilled and honored to present the soulful singer songwriter Kat Wright for our annual benefit concert for the Better Selves Fellowships. This fundraiser celebrates the mission of Knoll Farm and raises money for our Better Selves Fellowships. Our goal this year is to raise money to provide supported residential retreats for 60 individuals working in the fields of social justice, human well being and conservation. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to these fellowships.
Tickets to the concert are now sold out, but you can tune into the live stream for free online here on August 14th.
The benefit concert will happen rain or shine. Hero tickets are $100.00 each, which will seat people directly in front of the outdoor stage in dry weather or in the barn in wet weather. Hero ticket holders will also be invited to a private dinner, catered by Knoll Farm, before the start of the concert. Supporter tickets are $50.00 each, which will seat people either directly in front of the outdoor stage in dry weather or in the barn in wet weather. Outdoor-only tickets are $20.00 each for seating on the hill if the weather is not rainy. The event will be live streamed through Facebook for free for those who can’t attend in person but would like to tune in.
“Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should.”
